CASTLES
OF
COUNTY DONEGAL

Castles of County Donegal

County Donegal has many castles, some in total ruins, some restored.  There are little known, off the beaten track ones, and much more prominent ones such as O'Donnells Castle (seen above here) which is better known as Donegal Castle and can be visited in Donegal Town.

And of course Glenveagh Castle (which, while it looks like a castle, is actually a just a 'folly') and can be visited in the second largest national park in Ireland, Glenveagh.

Below are some of the castles of County Donegal.  Click on any of the links to view photographs and read a little of its history.
