HIGHLAND RADIO I was on the Shaun Doherty show today and brought the following pictures with me so that Shaun's listeners could see photos of Donegal.
Shaun's show runs Monday to Friday 10am - 1pm (gmt) and is repeated each weekday night at 1am The show is a great place to tune into as there is always lots of Donegal related things on it (naturally!). You can listen him on the net too. Click SHAUN DOHERTY SHOW and use the 'Listen live' link (top right of his page) to tune in each day.
DONEGAL WEATHER
Donegal weather can be very varied. We left one village yesterday, 24th of June 2012, where it was pouring rain. A few miles away the sun was shining and blues skies as the photograph of Glencolmcille below shows.
DONEGAL WEATHER ~ My theory!
Our weather station is located at Malin Head, very near the edge of the head (and the most northerly point in Ireland). It can be very stormy up there as anyone who has been will verify. The photographs below were taken minutes apart.
The first one is of St. Mary's Church, Lagg where the weather was glorious. We drove the few miles up to Banaba's Crown at Malin Head (just past the weather station) and it was lashing rain and blowing a very strong gale.
I bet the weather report that day quoted stormy weather in Donegal and yet clearly there was very fine weather in Donegal that day too! So don't always believe the weather reports. Donegal enjoys plenty of sunshine.
