Denise Blake was born in Ohio, U.S.A. and moved back to Letterkenny in her childhood. She is a poet and writer and has published three collections of poetry: Take A Deep Breath (Summer Palace Press); How To Spin Without Getting Dizzy (Summer Palace Press); and Invocations (Revival Press, Limerick Writers Centre).
She is a regular contributor to Sunday Miscellany RTE Radio 1. She facilitates creative writing workshops. in schools through Poetry Ireland Writers in Schools Scheme, with teachers and artists as part of Artists in Education, CAP Poetry in Motion NI and with a variety of adult groups.
