THINGS TO DO IN DONEGAL: WOODLAND AND FOREST WALKS
With approximately 11-12 % of County Donegal forested there are plenty of beautiful forest walks available to enjoy for free (other than at Ards where there is a small fee for daily parking).
Walking in our forests and woodlands is a peaceful and healthy pastime being so close to nature and the beauty of our forests and woods. Many have seats dotted along the paths where you can sit and just reflect and enjoy the peace.

Monellan Woods
These beautiful woods not far from the village of Killygordon, near Stranorlar and Ballybofey, are a magical place to visit. The green there is so vibrant it looks almost enhanced. There are various paths to walk around and so you can do a short loop of the woods or take a number of paths for a longer walk.
Dotted along the way are benches to sit and enjoy the beautiful woodland.
Along with the various woodland trails there there is also one of the smallest graveyards in Ireland.
Hidden within the woods lies this tiny graveyard measuring round 7 or 8 feet square and with an old stone wall around it is the last resting places of .............
